In 1755, Edme François Julien Botot created L’Eau de Botot for King Louis XV. This preparation, made with natural essences, gave the King a breath that matched his reputation as a seducer.
Just before the French revolution, then King Louis XVI gave his royal seal of approval. A few months later, his wife, the Marie-Antoinette, who was at this time a prisoner, asked her jailer to ensure that she always have a bottle on hand. Three centuries has passed and L’Eau de Botot remains, made famous by its years of royal connections!
